Can I Delete a Workflow?
StringBean does not support deleting workflow templates. Archive workflows instead to remove them from active use and keep them available to restore later.
StringBean does not support deleting Workflow Templates. Once a workflow exists in the Library, it stays in the Library — there is no Delete action on the workflow card or in any menu.
This is intentional: Workflows often have downstream history (past Tasks (Service Requests), scheduling rules, references in other templates) that would be broken by deletion. Keeping templates around preserves that history.
What to do instead
If you no longer want to issue a workflow but want it out of your active Library, Archive it.
Archiving:
- Moves the workflow out of your active Library into the Archived Library.
- Keeps the workflow available to restore later if you need it again.
- Preserves the workflow's history and any past Tasks (Service Requests) issued from it.
See How to Archive a Workflow for steps.
If the workflow has active Tasks
If a workflow has open Tasks (Service Requests), it can't be archived until those are resolved. See the Before you archive: dependencies section in How to Archive a Workflow for what to do
