If you have forgotten your password, you can request a temporary password from the login screen. The process has three steps: request a temporary password, log in with it, and set a new permanent password.

Once you request a password reset, your original password no longer works โ€” even if you don't use the temporary password. You'll need to either sign in with the temporary password from the email, or request another reset if it expires.

Step 1 โ€” Request a temporary password

  1. On the login screen, tap (or click) Forgot Password.
  2. Enter the email address or username associated with your StringBean account.
  3. Tap Submit.

You'll receive an email from support@stringbean.tech to the email address on your account. The email will contain a temporary password and will look like this:

Your temporary password for account 'username' is XXXXXX. It will expire in 24 hours. Please login and change to a new password.

The temporary password expires in 24 hours. If it expires before you use it, repeat the steps above to request a new one.

Step 2 โ€” Log in with your temporary password

  1. Return to the StringBean login screen
  2. Enter your email address or username and the temporary password from the email
  3. Tap Log In

Step 3 โ€” Set a new password

After logging in with your temporary password, you'll be prompted to set a new permanent password before continuing

If the passwords don't match the fields will be highlighted in red. Re-enter your new password in both fields to correct this before tapping confirm

Once your new password is saved, you'll be taken to the home screen.

Troubleshooting

My old password doesn't work, but I never used the reset
  • Once you tap Forgot Password and submit the form, your original password is replaced โ€” even if you never opened the email
  • To sign in, use the temporary password from the email
  • If the email has expired or you can't find it, request another reset.
I didn't receive the password reset email
  • Check your spam or junk folder for an email from support@stringbean.tech.
  • Make sure you entered the correct email address associated with your StringBean account.
  • If you're unsure which email address is on your account, contact your organization's StringBean administrator.
  • If the issue persists, contact support@stringbean.tech
My temporary password isn't working
  • Temporary passwords expire after 24 hours. If yours has expired, return to the login screen, tap Forgot Password, and request a new one.
  • Make sure you're entering the temporary password exactly as it appears in the email โ€” it's case-sensitive.
  • If the issue persists, contact support@stringbean.tech
The Confirm button isn't activating after I enter my new password
  • Make sure both the New Password and Confirm Password fields are filled in.
  • Check that the passwords in both fields match exactly โ€” the button only illuminates when the two fields are identical.
  • If the fields are showing red, the passwords don't match. Re-enter them carefully.
